Hi All,

My company is finally ready to pull the trigger on moving from an eval copy of BES to the full version. According to the BB web site's directions, we need to uninstall the eval and install the full blown product. Also, it indicates that we'll need to activate all BBs (which I'm reading as blowing away settings, mail, etc). I've read info on the 'Net that leads me to think that we may not need to uninstall, simply enter the new CAL key & SRP and as long as the BBs have version 4.0 or later OS the change in the SRP is transparent to the end users.

Anyone have experience with this in an MS Exchange environment and if so, what was it like, have any tips, etc...?

I just went thru the exact same thing. Alls I did was enter in the new CAL Key and SRP. All of our BlackBerrys were 4.0 or later.

No need to reinstall and all that. Just enter the new SRP and the new key will filter down to the devices automatically. No need to recradle or anything like that.

Weird. So I did just that back in November - went from trial to full without a reinstall.

I call up RIM today and get a new 60 day trial key (my last trial was 90 days) and the sales guy said I must uninstall and reinstall.

Hopefully I won't have to on this new server I am building.

Dunno, but we put in the new CAL key & SRP last night and I haven't noticed any problems and none of our users have reported anything yet (knock on wood). During the upgrade I continually sent mail from an external account to my internal one and noticed no lag at all.

We'll probably apply patches and hotfixes today - if anything blows up, I'll post back to this thread.
