I've just been given a Blackberry 7100V by my company in the UK on Vodafone and software revision appears to be 4.02.

We use Lotus Notes at work and synching is via BES.

I have a few questions:

1) is it possible to have Inbox as the default view when selecting Messages?

2) is it possible to sync the PIM information with my laptop that uses Outlook (via the cable) as well as via BES / Lotus Notes? I'd like to ditch my PocketPC but need to be able to back up my calendar, todo list, contacts etc at home as well as at work.

3) When I try to creat an email signature and save the settings, I get an error message about the "Out of Office due date cannot be in the past" ... Out of Office reply is set to "No" ... what's with that ??

Your messages will show missed calls and emails along with SMS. If you only want email Ala inbox open your phone options and change call logging to none not sure how to weed out text except to set previous items to 0. File any mesages that you open and set message options to hide filed messages or just delete them once you read them and then it will only show your new mail when you open messages. As far as syncing try it and see what happens. If you have personal contacts etc in outlook though it may not be wise to do so if your bb is business only. You can also set the options per item you want to sync with or even sync your ppc with your bb on dm 4.1
