Whenever I reply or forward an email, it seems to get encoded in base64. For most email readers that people use, this isn't a problem since the message automatically gets decoded. However, some people don't have email programs that perform this decoding so the message text is garbled.

Is there a way to change the encoding? Or prevent the reply/forward text from being garbled?

I searched on the forum but only found unanswered old threads. Has anyone dealt with this? (i'm using BIS on tmobile.)

BTW, for new emails that I compose from the blackberry, the message seems to be plain text and readable by all readers.

I'm bumping this thread in case someone has some insight...I'm running into the same problem with my Cingular 8700, and would like to get it sending plaintext all the time if possible.
