Arrow "123" in the upper right corner of my screen?

Please Login to Remove!

Mystery: Every once in awhile, I get a symbol in the upper right corner of the screen that is simply the numbers "123" on my 8700g with T-Mo. Does anyone know what this is about? The only way I seem to be able to get rid of it, is by turning my wireless off and then back on. I've checked my voicemaail and email at the time and there is nothing there. Any thoughts?

It will also happen if your cursor is in a text field that requires numbers to be entered.

Interesting. But no such notification on my 8700. I just tested in the address app (new address, work phone field) and in the telephone app.

Same here....I tested if it was my number lock key, but I get an up arrow when I use that. This "123" just pops in there sometimes...still searching for the answer.

Actually your answer seems to support what mymitsu3kgt said. On the 8700 the notification for numerical lock is 'NUM' not '123'. And it never just pops up. It only appears when you press alt + num. If on your model it appears from time to time, it may be because of what mymitsu3kgt suggested, i.e. you are in a numerical field. If older Blackberries had this feature, it has been dropped on the 8700. (We still get numbers automatically entered in certain fields but no indicator that that is what will happen).

The 123 numlock and ABC multi-tap symbols are annoying in they block the PocketDay battery meter from view!

Yes, thank you as that resolved it. It is the alt + num key combination that was doing it, and I inadvertantly was hitting that combination. Thanks again to all.
