Red face pls help...new user

Hi,

I need a GSM phone and am thinking about buying a blackberry, mainly for it's abililty to add a language software. The thing is I am buying a used 6230 and don't know a thing about blackberrys or bieks language software. Could someone please give me a general overview?

How do you get online without being plugged into something?

Should the phone come with free software for all of it's features?

Has anyone used this bieks software?

Thanks so much,

Through a data plan provided by your mobile phone company.

It's spelled BIEKS - if you do a search you'll find a lot in the forums here. Try this for starters: http://www.blackberryforums.com/bbf-...ighlight=beiks

thanks for replying.

I will be using this phone overseas and won't have a monthly carrier. I will just be buying regular sim cards. Is this phone still going to be useful to me?

If you need data services you need to ensure that the SIM card is tied to an account with a Blackberry data plan. No Blackberry data plan means no email, no internet access, etc.
