Default Modify Casing of 8700c to 8700g, possible?

Please Login to Remove!

I have had the 8700c for about 4 months now and love it, I have also managed to beat it up nicely as well. I am considering changing the casing for a new one (somewhere between US$80 - $100). A friend has the 8700g (T-mobile), in short, I prefer the look.

Does anyone know if I can replace the shell *casing* of the 8700c with the 8700g without issue? In short, are they the 'same' design, fit, etc inside?

Thanks!

T.

Thanks Trigga15, but I am not looking for a leather casing or case; rather the change the look of the unit from 8700c to 8700g. I know the parts are sold online, however does anyone know if the dimensions of the internal bits are the same? Eg. will one fit the other?

Yes. Seems like a lot of work for something you could very easily screw up, but yes, the internals are the same.

I think the keypads are different, but the rest of the case will fit fine. You have to find a place online that sells the 8700g keypad (the buttons, not the pcb). I've yet to find a place that sells this.

it is possible to do as long as, like Pizzle said, you have the proper keypad. I have done this on two units.
