Default Difference between 7130C and 7130V

Please Login to Remove!

I am thinking about getting the 7130C but noticed an add on eBay for a unlocked 7130V. What is the difference between the two, besides the subtle case designs? In the interactive product demo www-dot-blackberry-dot-com the interface looks more primitive and to the point with the 7130V. I live in the USA and have AT&T service, so I need an unlocked phone or an AT&T branded phone, which are hard to find these days.

If I decide to get the 7130C can I switch the OS/Firmware to that of the 7130V and vise-versa?

Nope, not a stupid question, just empty because whoever has looked at this thread does not know the true answer.

Like myself for instance. I don't know the answer to your question about using a vodaphone on AT&T, if you are unable to get your answer soon enough, maybe try calling AT&T and asking them?

Also as for the differences, have you looked at the spec sheets for them? It may list there the differences. I have found that many of the differences between the 7100x series blackberry's are mainly the form factors.

There is no difference other than the colour of the plastics and slightly different key size.

I thought that the V,G, etc depended on what carrier the device is locked to?
Is that not correct?

True, but I think he's already aware the device needs to be unlocked.

well, I know that getting an At&t phone is out of the question. at least for the 7130 model. I just bought an unlocked 7130c from ebay today. I hope its what I want, lol. I realy like the looks of the 7130v. Do you think the cases are interchangable? the button patterns look the same?

Well this is pretty late for a reply, but until a month ago I used to use an unlocked 7100V (vodaphone) with Cingular (which ATT is part of now) and never had an issue. I liked the smaller form factor of the 7100v compared to the behemoths they were selling in the US. I am using a 7130c right now but I saw the 7130V in person last week in UK and it looks and feels much better than my 7130c.

But I am noe waiting to get my hands on an unlocked 8100.....................heh,heh,heh..
