Default Advantages of 8800 over the 8700?

Please Login to Remove!

What are the advantages of the 8800 over the 8700? Will there be better features? I do not want to go ahead and purchase the 8800 if it will be no different than the 8700.

What is the estimated cost of the device? Do we have this information yet?

Thanks.

Default Re - 8800

From what I have read, it will have no camera, and I really do not think a Blackberry needs a camera. I would prefer to have a device that is very secure. RIM needs to make another line, away from the Blackberries if it wants to add things like camera's and mp3 players to phones.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)

How about the difference that the 8700 is on the market now and the 8800 was just announced?!? The 8800 is a while off I'm sure lol

Are you getting this from your personal resources, or are these just assumptions based on what you've read and/or the 8100's specifications? Just curious, because a lot of what you put is wrong.

I think we'll see an updated version of our current processor in the 8700, to be honest... perhaps from 312mhz to 412mhz.

Cingular will have the Palm Treo 750 real soon .. Just wait if you really want to get away from a BlackBerry. My wife now carries a 8100 (Pearl) and so far so good. The camera is good on the Pearl ...

I think the 8800 is aimed at the corp people and will not have a camera. Cameras will be aimed at the consumer market like the 8100.

I am completely with you on this. I like to save my battery for actual talking and emailing, not mp3 listening. That's what my iPod is for. And as for camera...every phone I know that has a camera in it, breaks. I like my BB just the way it is .

wifi YES. great for streaming movies for presentations. transfering files to the computer. no camera is a plus. the novelty wears off in a few days. I personally dont think the keypad should be made smaller. its perfect now.

expandable memory is great for saving documents and media files. maybe we can install apps there too?

anyways.. I am pumped for it

A few of the points are still up in the air or unknown, and atleast one of them is not true. Just curious where you're getting your information from, that's all. I'm going to take a guess and say atleast 3-4 things are wrong.

I was told by one of our Cingular Reps in Atlanta, that Cingular will be releasing a Treo with BlackBerry Connect around the November time frame. That's what he said, not me, just passing it along.
