Default Browser Icons on BES

Please Login to Remove!

For those on BES, I am wondering if you have one or two icons for the Internet and Blackberry Browser. I have only one icon. I can set the choice in the Advanced Options>Browser. I find it interesting that the MDS (Mobile Data Service) has a setting for Internet Browser. I thought that service came only on BES.

I am on BES and while my 8700 had three browser icons (WAP, Internet and Blackberry), my 8800 only has two (WAP and Blackberry)

I'm on BES, and I have exactly the same settings as you. The only difference with my old 8700c is that I can't have all three browsers on my home screen. But I can choose between Internet or Blackberry browsers as my home screen icon.

Have you figured out any difference between the Internet Browser and the Blackberry Bowser, or why to choose one over the other as the default browser?

Internet browser goes through the carrier, and BES goes through the corp servers.

I am also on a BES but only have two icons on the home screen instead of the three that the 8700 had. You can switch between browsers by starting your HTML browser/press menu button/select "go to"/press menu button/select "change browser". You can then select BlackBerry Browser, Internet Browser or Media Net.

One browser only on the Pearl as well. You can edit which browser is used for individual shortcuts. You can change which browser you use when typing a web address by using the "go to" menu item. Then when the window comes up to type in the address just hit the menu key and select "change browser."
