Default SanDisk Micro SD 2gb formatting problems

Please Login to Remove!

I have a SanDisk 2gb and when I format the card on the phone the 8830 reboots everytime. This is my 2nd disk with the same problem. I also tried it in another phone at the VZ store with no success. Has anyone else experience this problem as well?

No but when I pulled the battery to reboot my 8830 it said that the SD card needed to be reformatted when I just had it playing music and deplaying pictures.

I had a similar problem when I got my 2GB microSD card. After trying different things, including the resetting the device, I reformatted it in my digital camera using the adapter card and reinserted it into my 8830 and it worked. 2 weeks later it's still working.

I can format the card in my camera or PC and then if works fine in my phone. I just cannot format the card in my phone.

may be a dumb question, but if it works after formatting it in the camera, why do you need to format it in the phone? i'm not following.

I periodically need to wipe the card while on the road, I constantly take data on and off the card because I deal with confidental data for my business.

laptop + card reader + format = the best option if you're constantly doing it...

Ah...makes sense. I don't have that situation, hence the confusion. Other than just doing it externally, I can't think of any other options. I'm thinking its not the cards though.
