I have had many a blackberry over the years and I just switched to the VZN 8830. When I had my 8700g when a call came in while I was on a call, I had the option to Answer and hold current, Answer and drop current or Ignore. The 8830 doesn't give me this option. Am I missing something here? Also, in the phone option menu there aren't any options for Call Waiting or Call Forwarding to enable or disable. Anybody else have this same experience?

If the option is not available at Phone, Options--then you need to call Verizon and make certain it is enabled on your account. Those enable options should be on your menu.

on the 8830 - press the trackball down when the second call comes in, you'll get all the options you are looking for

Hi.

I couldn't find the option to switch on Call Waiting on my 8800 when I first got it, so I just used the GSM codes:

Enter them into the phone application and hit "Send"

Interrogate Call Waiting Current Status: *#43#
Activate Call Waiting: *43#
Deactivate Call Waiting: #43#

You'll get an answer from the network informing you that the changes have taken place.

Those GSM codes do not work on Verizon Wireless, which is a CDMA network.

bigwup: very strange, on my phone, 8830 verizon, when the 2nd call comes in, i press the track ball down and a menu of options displays, they are the same options that used to automatically display on my 7250

i wish they came up automatically like on the 7250 but they don't, you have to press the track ball down. oh well, at least i have gps on the 8830, NOT!
