Default Thread Tools suggestion - Mark As Solved

Please Login to Remove!

Possibly add another choice in thread tools to the op - Mark As Solved, so the thread then shows with the added word of Solved in front of the original subject. People could search for threads marked solved if they wanted to find threads with potentially complete answers and suggestions.

I like the idea, personally. Not sure if that can be implemented, though. Someone with better vBulletin knowledge can chime in.

I agree. The same thing, when the issue is "solved", and the author is satisfied, the thread can be already "closed". Others still can read the issue and the solution, but there is no need to post anything else.

Great example from a tech forum I use:

Solved: Any wireless routers with more than 4 ports? - Tech Support Guy Forums

The issue I see with this is that only 30% or so of threads are questions waiting to be answered, and unlike the tech support forum you mentioned, it would not apply 70% of this forums postings, nor do we have any specific help only forums where it can only be applied within that forum

Yep, I see your point. Just thought it might be handy for people that had specific problems and could search for resolved issues. Much depends on the op marking a thread solved and like you said, many threads are for opinions, not necessarily technical issues requiring a solution. Eh, thought I'd throw it out there anyhow for your consideration.
