Default ETA on server fix?

Please Login to Remove!

Tom,

Thanks to you and all the mods for the best BlackBerry forums and the best group of mods in terms of knowledge and friendliness.

Like many, this has been my BlackBerry home almost since I've had a BlackBerry, and I hope to continue gaining knowledge - and online friends - here for some time to come.

Unfortunately, the persistent server unavailability is making that more and more difficult, and I've found myself spending time at other forums lately that I usually don't bother checking into. I've also seen a number of comments from others about starting to frequent other forums too.

Any online site is going to have its downtimes, but when it becomes multiple weeks, it gets pretty frustrating for all (you included, I'm sure.) Your notice was posted about a week ago now and mentioned a new server online within the week, but the problems still persist. Any information updates on status and anticipated "fix" timing at this point?

Hope this isn't taken as flaming, just a request for updated status - and hoping its all fixed very soon.

Thanks...

EDIT: Just getting this new message to post took 4 attempts (timeouts) over 15 minutes, and this short edit is taking 2 attempts itself.

Dallas, yes it has been frustrating, for me as well. I considered this site "home" as well. I can't comment on the server issues and its ETA fix, but I do thank you for your patience and your membership here.

Hopefully, the best is yet to come!

Its not flaming, I do apologize. This current server is slowly getting better, and I would say easily by the end of this week, all will be transferred onto the new server.

I will post progress in a thread in site suggestions/problems as soon as I have an update for you guys.

I, too, feel your pain. Going to the other sites (or just 1 other site in my case) is like visiting a bad summer camp....cots are too small, the food is awful, and you can't wait to get home.

Ditto what they said. I've been having BBF withdrawals and the other forum just doesn't give me the needed fix!

Guess, good luck with getting moved to the new servers.

site slowness is annoying me! Why is it an OC3 connection takes 1-5 minutes to load a damn page!

Everyone is frustrated, but I'd rather see them take their time to get the new servers configured right, hardened against security threats, and get the site moved smoothly than see them rush and screw something up, which could be more painful in the long run.
