Default Blackberryforums.com Slow?

Is it me, or is the Forums server really slow today? It takes 15-30 seconds to return a new thread. I'm on a Satellite connection, so I expect some lag times, 2-5 seconds at most. But today, and maybe yesterday to some extent, it's really been sluggish. Even timing out several times. At one point, around noon, it appeared as if the server was down for a few minutes. The WAP wouldn't respond at the same time either.

I even switched to my phone and tethered on 1XEV. I get pretty zippy speeds on that, and it's sluggish and slow also. And the WAP forum is exhibiting the same symptoms.

yeah, it was real slow this morning so the server was rebooted. It picked up for a while but slowed down again. It's being looked into. FWIW, there were 2100 users online this morning around 0830 PDT.

Yes, it seems a little better now. There are 2166 folks using the server right now. That's a pretty hefty load. I've pinged, and get pretty decent times, so it's more likely the load on the server.

To add to my original post, with 1XEV I'm getting pretty much 300kbs, as in 1/3 of 1mb, according to Speakeasy. I've seen constant speeds of 650-700kbs on occaision, but not often. My sat consistently shows 900kbs to 1mb.

I guess this is all part of the usual April 1st thing.
But slowww is better than BBF crashing down.

It seems that a backup process was incorrectly scheduled and is taking up server resources. This has now been fixed and should be effective as soon as the backup process is done the backup.

Just in the last 30-45 minutes, it's ground to almost a halt. It's taking about 30-45 seconds to move from one thread to another.

It seems quicker now here, also. I don't think it's a function of load. It would appear as if there is a problem with the server itself. Before the crash, I would only see slow downs around 4pm ET, where one would normally see things starting to slow down on the whole. (All the kids are home from school.)

As an interesting note, it bogged down almost the same time yesterday.
