Default Google Ad's - 05-23-2009, 09:24 AM

I am (at times) seeing huge Google Ad's in the left side field, that are (sometimes) covering up a large portion of the post (that I am trying to read or reply to)

This is making these forums impossible for me to use....

This shouldn't be the case unless your browser does not fully load the page. If the page is only partially loaded the code that moves the ads to the left is omitted, which is what would cause that issue.

I am using the regular interface (not the WAP interface) with a PC. It's an old 1.7 GHZ IBM NetVista (with 500 MB of RAM) that is running Ubuntu 8.04 O/S, in conjunction with the latest version of Firefox.

Possibly I will try using the WAP interface with my mobile.

Thanks

What Web Browser are you using on your PC?

The OP said the latest version of FireFox. David, do you have the same issue if you use another browser or try another PC/laptop?

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.
When you take things for granted, the things you are granted, get taken.

When I clicked to reply (and quote your text) the Google ad consumed the first inch of the reply (I was/am trying to write) there are no other useful web browsers for linux (that I would want to use) - Firefox is not the problem methinks (it's the best of the bunch)

As I refuse to load Windows (so I will just suffer

I post to many forums by the way and this forum is the only one where the problem is occurring.

When I click the 'preview' field the first inch of my post is obscured also.

I am today using Firefox on Windows (at a friends house) - no issues either. Would other Linux users (who also use Firefox) care to comment?
