I get the above error when using the WAP site often enough to be very annoying. Please be patient with me. This and my next two posts are part of a n attempt to fault isolate this problem. If my theory is correct I will explain the results in a follow up post for the site management.

I thought I had found the problem that was giving this error, but this test did not result in any problems. I had noticed that a lot of the posts that generated this error had a link of the form presented in test 2. In the referenced topic the original post by BBFreak does not generate the error while his follow up, post 2 in the topic does, as does Mark’s post.
I guess more research is necessary.

I would appreciate it if the Management would look into this problem.

Ok, I give up, I'll leave it to the experts. I can't see what could be causing it. I thought it might be the color formating but the last try did not cause the error.

Ok.. The WAP site isnt tied into VBulletin in any way. Not really sure what errors you are referring to, but we have thousands of users that use the wap site, and nobody has come up with any errors. I highly recommend checking if the settings in your browser (on your bb) would create errors. Plus, why are you linking actual thread pages? When your wap browser can only support its own pages...

I am sorry if anything I have posted in this topic is inappropriate. I was merely trying to understand a problem that has occurred when perusing the WAP site from time to time. It appeared to be tied to specific posts and very repeatable with those posts.

The problem is that sometimes when I try to open a topic or open a next page link, a page with only “The Requested Page Can Not Be Displayed” is opened. I normally have my “Posts Preferences” set to display 10 posts per page. If I set the “Posts Preferences” to 1 post per page I can determine exactly which post is causing the error.

I use the WAP site almost exclusively except on weekends. I get the error often enough on your WAP site that it caused me to do a little research into which posts were causing the problem. I also get this error on other sites, but not near as much as on this one.

I don’t understand you statement that the WAP site isn’t tied into VBulletin. I understood that the WAP site was generated from the VBulletin Site automatically.

The links that I used to test this were to the latest topic I tried to view that caused this problem. That is why I used them. In my research I discovered some of the individual posts which generated the error and which did not. This topic is not the only one to generate this error, just the one I chose for my research.

I realize that there are many users that may not get this error but I can’t believe that I am the only one. As to my browser, I thought of that first and did some changes to see if it was the problem but the changes had no affect. If it were the settings, why then wouldn’t I get the error on every topic or page I check on the site? It must have something to do with the individual posts, or their translation from the main site to the WAP site.

All this being said I really do like both this site and the WAP Site. If you do not feel that this problem is caused by the site or if it isn’t important enough for your attention, then ignore this topic. If, by chance you want to investigate more, I will be happy to do anything I can to help.

Wap site is not generated from anything. Its merely php Code that uses the same SQL database.

I do not see why it would ever say wap site can not be displayed. It seriously sounds like a browser problem, as I just accessed that particular topic with ease, with a 10 post limit, and a 20 post limit.

Not sure what to tell you, I cant really investigate anything that isnt happening to my device, or anyone else's device. Plus its not like I can change anything. The software is paid for, and under their Terms of Service, I am unable to alter their code.

Thanks for the clarifiction, I was unaware of the details of how the two sites worked together. Based on this, I now believe then the problem is related to the data stored for the specific posts concerned and the interaction with the cingular browser on my BB7290.
I will try again to configure my browser differently to see if that helps.

Actually previous to my being on BES and the BlackBerry browser, I sometimes noticed similar problems with using a carrier browser. Are you using the carrier browser?
