Default Supplemental Memory - 08-15-2007, 07:31 PM

I just got an 8830 and put in 1G Micro SD last night. I have 5,000 contacts that takes up about 75 Meg - more than the 32 Meg the 8830 professes to have. Is the 1G memory I added parallel to the internal memory so that I can add all contacts without smoke coming out of the phone? Or is the 1G just like a backup drive and useless for internal operations?

Thanks VERY much!

Dave, the 1GB SD card is useless for loading those contacts to the address book.

Why do you say the list is 75MB? How do you know how large if not loaded to the BB yet? I am betting it will be smaller than 75MB when loaded to the BB.

I wonder if he exported them out of his e-mail program to a text or CSV file, and that is the size of the file.
