Social Feeds and apps?

Do you need to have apps like Facebook and Twitter installed when using Social Feeds?

Depends on your use of SocialFeeds.. Currently only RIM apps work with the social portion of it.

It can still be used as a basic RSS Reader

Its for peeps who don't wanna open 3 apps to get their social media fix. You can open one and see ur fb, twitter, and read up on the news all in one app. Plus it's not really a battery drain cause u only open one app as opposed to 3 or 2. And also say you get a fb message, only the social media app icon pops up, not the native fb app.

Its for peeps who don't use twitbook very often imo. :)

I can't say I noticed any more battery drain from the app. I had over a dozen RSS feeds, Facebook/Twitter/Gtalk/WLM/AIM rolled in their as well.

I downgraded my FB app to 1.8 to troubleshoot some notification issues and it seems that this version of FB is NOT compatible with the Social Feed application....that blows.
