i don;t believe this is possible, as they do not have any way of connecting to an exchange server and communicating with it..

I am not a mac user, so maybe I am wrong, and someone else can comment?

I signed up yesterday with EMM, I wear a few different hats at work..

I was a bit skeptical on a hosted x-change service, so far it is almost as the x-change server is local.
I had a few bumps in getting started, but it was fixed rather quickly (mins not hrs) and one other bump, I emailed support around 10 at night and it was fixed fast (again, mins. not hours)

Thumbs up!!!
I wish I found this forum over a year ago when I first got my 7100, now i'm crusing on an 8700g with BES and I'm happy as a pig in s%$t.

PS, the pricing is reasonable (better than others) and the 10% discount is a nice touch.

I'm a mailbox size hog, but I'm just archiving local on my desktop, 100MB is plenty in the exchange box.. but i know i can up it for a few $$ more.

THX Dave!

Default EMM service in Italy - 04-27-2006, 05:21 PM

Hi,
I was reading the post and it seems that EMM is what I am looking for...
My only concern is knowing if the service is available in Italy using a data plan from TIM.
I own a 7100V.
Thanks

you should contact their support, can't see why you couldn't.

if you have the bandwidth, why not ( on the exchange part )
on the BES part, if the blackberry netowrk is the same, i don't see why not.. but again, check with exchangemymail, Dave over there is very knowledgable I think there's a gentlemen from the UK with BES service too

Default ? about EMM - 04-30-2006, 09:30 AM

A few questions about the exchange service and hosted BES:

My primary email account now is through my work. It is an IMAP system requiring SSL. Would I need to forward everything from this system to my EMM account?

Will I be able to access secure sites? Any problems with certificates? 128 bit encrypted sites? What about kerberos authentication?

Looking at this thread, there seem to have been issues with access in the past few months? Any comments from users?

I'll only comment on this.

The number is outages is/was very small. One or two over the last few months. They didn't last long and service was quickly restored. Some were even planned outages for server upgrades etc.

There is no reason to let service play into your decision making process. It's as perfect as it gets.

Hello,

i'm a BB newbie - got my 7290 this week. I wanted to ask you guys 3 questions: firstly, how is the communication to this exchange server being established? I mean, i don't get it, if i have to still pay for my Blackberry Push-Mail at E-Plus (a german cellular GSM company). Is the BB connecting to the server by regular GPRS? Can i just quit my BB plan at E-Plus and get only a regular GPRS 100 mb plan?
Second thing, can i use this BES service? I mean, i'm in germany and aren't there any technical issues (if it's just connectin by GPRS, then i assume, there aren't any).
Third thing, the pricing. On the Exchangemymail page there is a price for the Exchange account and a seperate price for BB BES 4.0. Do i have to order both plans? (19,89 $ total)

Great forum i must say Thanks in advance.

Sorry for my bad english.

Default tethered modem - 05-01-2006, 10:35 AM

Another quick question, with the hosted BES, can I use my 8700c as a tethered modem without having to deal with cingular and the charges that may appear for wap access?

Today I noticed that I am not getting my email attachments from my hosted ExchangeMyMail BES.

I got an email yesterday saying they were doing an upgrade, and havent got them since.

Come to think of I may be experiencing the same issue. I've been traveling all week and did receive an email yesterday with several attachments in it. I could see them there but there was no option to option any of them.

Have you emailed EMM support about this?

Arrow Attachments - 05-10-2006, 10:37 AM

Sorry guys, we didn't notice the problem until a customer had emailed us and brought this to our attention.

We have resolved the issue this morning.
I do not think attachments from yesterday will be able to be opened, as the attachments were never actually delived to the handhelds. New emails with attachments are now working again..

Has anyone gotten Entourage to work with Exchange My Mail? I know they don't support it but are nice enough to have some instruction for setting it up on their website.

I followed the instructions but keep getting "HTTP error. The resource is not found."

Default Praise for exchangemymail - 05-16-2006, 07:15 PM

I need to add my praise for Dave and the whole group at Exchangemymail. I just signed up for service today and needed my 'sent from' address to be changed from the @goemm.com standard. Dave did this in under 5 minutes from the time of my first request until it was taken care of.

Amazing customer support

Default Beware those who cancel - 05-28-2006, 01:08 PM

Beware anyone who tries to cancel the Exchange My Mail service, unlike just about every other service provider, these guys will not give you a pro-rated refund for unused service if you cancel in the middle of a billing cycle. That happened to me, and I'm not impressed. No way would I ever go back or recommend anyone to them.

why did you leave?
I could see being upset if there was a problem with the service and not getting back your money but if the service was fine..... how much are you talking about here? 10 - 15 Dollars??
I have been with them for months and very happy with the service and the billing, really dont think too many people are going to worried about this.
Just my opinion

I left because I no longer had a use for a hosted BES service, which was somewhat caused by the fact that the downtime that occured was always at the most inoppertune times.

No matter what you are cancelling for, I've yet to hear of a company that doesn't provide a pro-rated refund for unused services.

I'd like to apologize in advance for asking such a "Noob" question. In order to subscribe to ExchangeMyMail, do I have to keep the Unlimited BB plan from Cingular?

Yes, you still need your BB plan from Cingular. The data plan will give you access to EMM. Your data will then flow through their system when you usa third party apps and allow you to avoid the Cingular add-on charges.

Avationwiz - Unfortunately we are not able to provide prorated refinds due to licensing fees that must be paid to Microsoft. As long as you have access to your mailbox for 1 minute, in any given month, we have to send them their fees. Therefore we are unable to give prorated refunds.

This is clearly stated in our Terms Of Service agreement, and as far as I know all our major competition all have the same clause because of this licensing fees issue. I have also never heard of any webhost company giving a pro-rated refund for unused time, but i guess it is possible.

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you cancel within the first 30 days, you are not liable for the monthly fees if you cancel within that time period.

First let me say that I am a believer of you get what you pay for, I have found with Exchange my Mail I have gotten "More" then what I have paid for. I have been with other companies that have treated me like a number, you can tell that they have little concern with issues that I have had with their service. I switched to EMM a month ago and I have to say that this is by far the most service oriented company I have ever worked with. I had some issues at first with setting up my desktop but, Dave and Steve walked me through the setup process and found out quickly that I had made a mistake while setting this process up. I don't like to pay more for service then I should and with EMM I actually believe I am getting a bargin. I have emailed them at all sorts of crazy times during the day and night and have ALWAYS gotten a responce ( thanks Dave) whats that worth to a person who LIVES on their blackberry. I thank ;you guys for your wonderful and friendly service and will be recommend your service to everyone. Keep up the good work. Harris

Anyone else having issues?

I know there was scheduled maintenance to be performed last night from 10-12 but I awoke this morning and can't get any mail on my desktop.

Their web client isn't working either which leads me to believe the servers are down.

Anyone called?

Believe it or not, we were just rebooting some machines. Sometimes these servers can take a while to shutdown, and come back to life

Exchangemymail is the way to go 100% I tried another service only to find their support inferior to EMM. In my oppinion I think 98%+ of ANY company in the wold does not offer the support that EMM does. 7:55 PM PST means its 10:55 EST ( EMM I believe is EST zone ) and Dave offered great advice in establishing my account, and set up options. PERSONAL SUPPORT ! None of the " some one from our support staff will respond to your email ASAP- your email is important to us" canned auto responder. THANKS AGAIN !!! I will let ever BB user that I know who requires a BES hosting service - unless they are with EMM - they are with the wrong Co. A big thumbs up !!!!

I had to chime in on this thread tonight because of minor issues with EMM. I noticed I wasn't getting emails on my 8700c and was unable to log into my web client or (believe it or not) the support page.

After about 1.5 hours, I finally emailed support's email, where I had the pleasure of dealing with Dave (the one I keep reading about.. He let me know they had had server issues and they were back online.

I agree with those that say this company is a service oriented company.. after being in customer support for the IT industry for almost 20 years, I can certainly say I am impressed with EMM and will recommend them to anyone who listens.

Dave and company.. good job...

Actually you would have to subscribe to a BES data plan.

Default ASP-One - 08-09-2006, 08:39 PM

Does anyone have any experience with ASP-One? Good, Bad?

I am looking at using them for a dedicated server, hosted Exchange service for 50+ users with 12+ Blackberries.

I have no comment on asp-one.com, but i do have a qestion for you.

Why do you want to go with a dedicated server?

A dedicated server affords you no protection for downtime. If that single dedicated server fails, everything stops working, and you have no mail or public folders. However, if you are on a shared hosting platform you get all the benefits of the clustered hardware, and failover capabilities and generally leads to better peformance and uptime.

I would like the opportunity to speak with you about your needs if your interested.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

I signed up last night and had to get some help getting setup, and Enzo got me going quickly enough on the Exchange part but I still don't have the BES activation info. I sent an email back to him about it nearly 3 hours ago but haven't gotten a response. Does anyone know of a way to do this through the control panel?

Edit: Also, I never got an answer about the 10 percent savings for bbforums members.

Hey Donovan,

I am sooo sorry, but I somehow missed that email from you-
I have activated you in the BES at this point, and the system should have emailed you out a password.

As far as the 10% discount, it will be added to your account first thing tommorow morning.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Thanks very much for your help. I'm actually quite happy with how fast most the email responses have been. I'm used to 4 hour or so minimum in between responses. At the same time I am a little impatient when it comes to stuff, too

As of yet the server hasn't emailed me that password but hopefully it'll come soon. Today is the first day I really used the email features on my BlackBerry, and I can't wait to add automatic PIM sync to it. I got used to PIM sync on my MDA and was spoiled by it.

*interrupted by phone call while typing*

And just as I was typing this I got a call from Enzo apologizing for the delay and he setup a new password for the BES activation. I was quite surprised at getting a call from them, few companies bother with that. It seems their reputation for customer service is very well deserved. Thanks Enzo!

I'm in the middle of a test with ASP-One right now. Thank you for the offer. I'll have to see how the test goes before I do anything else at this point.

Has anyone worked with 1and1.com?
