I am currently using my work's POP server with TMO's BIS and a Blackberry 8100, but they do have an exchange server. How difficult will it be for me to set up your service with their exchange server(5.5 / so sad)? I will also want to use my personal Gmail account. Will I be able to view shared calendars OTA with this product? Will I need to get BES with TMO? If not, would there be any advantage to getting it? I am a network engineer with my company so feel free to give me a technical response. Thanks.

New BB User -
06-10-2007, 09:21 AM
I am new to Blackberrys, I just got my 1st one via ebay and have no services other than the web access I had with my other phone, of which I was able to download, do email etc. This is my question, with your service will your browser allow me to download through it. Since I don't have BIS service just web, I have no blackberry browser and Minuet won't allow downloads either. I'm just a housewife who has alot of time on my hands and loves my gadgets so this is important. Obviously since I don't have a BB browser on my phone (no service books configured) alot of the resident blackberry apps won't work either. Maps work splendidly though as does google maps so I do have data capabilities. Just trying to find a economical solution. I had decided that I was going to set up my own server and run enterprise Xpress but that might be a bigger bite than I want to chew. Just a little feedback and info from you will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know if you answered this already but how exact5ly does this work? I intend to buy a BB today from Tmobile (with new contract) but cannot afford the extra $30 for exchange email. Can I use your system for my work email? What do I need in order to do this? How much is the total cost from you? What do I get for the cost? My contract will be $45 pm and I really cannot afford too much more.
Thank you,
Joe

Joe - In order to use our service you will need to host your mail with us, as well as have BES level service with your wireless carrier.
The basic costs on our side will be: 19.98/mo witha 1 time 39.99 setup fee. Less any discounts offered here on the forums.
I hope this helps..

BES Benefit? Why not just use BIS? -
03-23-2008, 03:44 PM
I don't understand how a third party BES is worth the cost. If BIS works, why not use it at no cost? Unless BES lets me access my .MIL or .GOV accounts?

First I want to start off by saying to ArmyGeorge, thank you for your service to our country. It is brave people like you that allow us to live like we do in this country.
Now to try to answer your question, I have BIS also but would like to get BES for my Mac (almost impossible). BES allows everything to be synced wirelessly, contacts, calendar, mail, notes. There is no more cable to the BB and remembering to sync, it's just there where you are.

I signed up for ExchangeMyMail months ago. Earlier today, I upgraded my Curve 8330 to OS 4.5 in anticipation of HTML e-mail support. It works great through BIS accounts like blackberry.net and Yahoo!. However, I was not getting HTML e-mail from my hosted BES connection through ExchangeMyMail. I opened a ticket and got this response:
Hi Mike, this feature is currently disabled on our BES servers as suggested by RIM as this could overload our BES because we have hundreds of users on our system and enabling this option will put more load on the server so we have disabled this feature until further notice from RIM.
Interesting. Does anyone know of other hosted BES solutions that have this feature implemented. IF there was such a performance impact, I wonder why RIM would have released the functionality in the first place as part of BES...
EDIT: Just wanted to say that ExchangeMyMail has followed up with me once again and we've discussed the issue. They offered to work with me to figure something out. Their customer service rocks and is very greatly appreciated. I don't plan on going anywhere. Now, if only I could get Comcast to be as responsive.

MPScan - There is actually a thread here on BlackBerryforums.com about it.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-...s-4-1-sp5.html
I am copying the first paragraph so it's easily readable to the viewers.
"Please note that this is an unsupported configuration by RIM. There are known issues and conditions that can potentially cause your messaging (Exchange) server to crash. This is not a recommended solution for large BlackBerry deployments. "

Hello,
I am new to the forums and I want to make sure I understand this service correctly.
I have a blackberry (obviously) and my phone provider is AT&T, however I do not have internet service with them (which I believe is what BES or BIS is) because at this time I can not afford the cost of the phone bill and the cost for their internet service for my blackberry.
Is what you are offering internet access as well as if I would be getting it from AT&T for my blackberry, or am I misunderstanding the service?
Thank you for your time,
Anthony

Does ExchangeMyMail offer HTML emails to BB using their BES? It's important for me before I decide to sign up with them.

Sorry for the long delay in responding.
Yes, EMM offers HTML email support on our BES servers. Devices need to support this with the proper OS in order for it to work.
Once your account is created, and your BlackBerry is activated, please submit a support ticket requesting that you be put on the HTML Emails IT Policy.
This will allow the BES to send HTML email to your device.

Hello,
only one BlackBerry can work on one mailbox. However, you could get an activeSync device, and use that at the same time.

I can't speak for how the service works on a different provider. If you moved to our service, you could both use the same domain, and share calendar and contacts.

Desktop manager bypass the wireless network -
02-18-2009, 10:19 PM
My Blackberry is connected to the BES.
Normally i can sync my data 2 ways:
1. My Blackberry sync via the wireless network
2, The other way is my BB connect to the BB Desktop Manager.
I want to know if i sync my blackberry via the Desktop Manager, will that save my data plan, as i understood that the Desktop manager bypass the wireless network and connect to the BES on the internal network.

This looks like just what I need. My wife and I both have BB's and both use our own laptops. We would like to keep our schedule and contacts on a live sync with all 4 devices so long as they're online. I'm assuming we will just have a $10/mo charge for each of the two accounts. Can you verify that this will be able to sync between all 4 devices (that being two BB's and two laptops running Outlook 2007)?

New EMM service -
04-01-2009, 11:37 PM
I'm currently using 4smartphone as my hosted exchange and I've been having a lot of "disconnects" during the day lately plus they want a "set up fee" for the BES plan so due to the many good comments in this thread I just signed up with EMM, I hope to post another success story once I get set up.

exchangemymail, I have been with a couple of BES providers and have had issues with my tasks and time zones via OWA. I found a bug yesterday in my providers hosted exchange where I would add a task via OWA with a due date of tomorrow and it would sync to my device (BB Storm 9530 with .122 OS) with a due date of today. Frustrating. They think its RIM or Microsoft, I think it is them. Have you heard about anything like this and our your folks experiencing this issue with the Storm? I should have done this before but as long as you dont have that, I will be switching to you all today! Also, any special offers for BBF members :( hehe. Thanks!

SRP address -
08-24-2009, 10:01 AM
Hey there,
Does anyone know if EMM has a specific SRP address or is it a common one for the US market?
The thing is that my telco provider ( Etisalat/UAE ) won't change my BIS plan for a BES unless I can provide them with EMM's SRP address...
Thanks,
Emmanuel

BIS by default will check a users mailbox every 10 - 15 minutes.
If you are looking for faster email delivery and full synchronization , contacts, calendar, tasks, memo's etc.. The only way to get that on a BlackBerry is by using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
We offer Hosted Microsoft Exchange which will then allow you to purchase the Hosted BES option as well.
A mailbox with hosted BES will run you about $17.99/mo per user. No contracts, no minimums.
Give us a call, and we can explain the whole thing to you.
888-608-6245. Ask for Steve or Jim.
Mention BlackBerry forums so they know to get you the $17.99 combo plan.

OK. I'm interested in the exchangemymail.com service but I have a few questions. I host my own domain and mailbox. I have a mailbox with about 20 folders right now. Will exchangemymail.com be able to host my domain and mail? adding the BES service, will I be able to see my mail AND my mail folders on my blackberry? Is there a limit for my mail on this exchangemymail host?

How do I remove "blackberry Desktop software v.42'' -
10-04-2009, 11:27 PM
How do i post a question on this board...thanks Danny
Hello,.
I'm trying to remove "blackberry Desktop software v.42'', from my computer,
I uninstalled everything else . I'm left with"blackberry Desktop software v.42
.
I have the software installed on my new computer.
I installed "windows. install cleanup" and was able to remove it from there however it is still in the "windows uninstall or change program window"
When I try to uninstall from there I receive a notice" This action is only valid for products that are currently installed ".
I tried to install the software again to see if it would remove the previous but it did not.
So at the moment I can't remove it and it seems to have no content.
Can you please help.........suggestions.......Thanks .........Danny Westwood...
