Quad-Channel J-Type Thermocouple Amplifier / Conditioner(0-5V analog output, mini TC conns, Cold Junction Compensated)
Description:With data acquisition and conditioning needs in mind, we introduce the SEN-30101J-5V0, an analog thermocouple amplifier board based onthe AD8494 IC from Analog Devices, successor of the AD596! This quad-channelthermocouple board converts the very low voltage signal from a thermocouple to a highly-linear, 0.005V/°C outputwith 0V offset (0°C = 0V output) while removing unwanted, high frequency EMI from the signal. Additionally, the signals are cold-junction compensated on-board, so there is no need for a reference junction temperature measurement. The full-scale output signal range is from 0V to 5.0V that covers a 0°C to 1,000°Coperating range, safe for Arduinos and many other types of data acquisition equipment. Simply connect a power supply (4-32V, wide input range) to theboard, plug in your thermocouples with the mini thermocouple connectors andconnect the outputs to your data acquisition system or even your Arduino!Additional information is available upon request, including help with your application!
Applications:
  • Automotive data acquisition (exhaust, coolant, brakes, etc)
  • Industrial instrumentation
  • Oven temperature measurements
  • Home brew setups
  • Other hobby projects!
    • 5V power supply allows use with the Arduino power source
    • 5V output range can be used with virtually any data acquisition system or 5V Arduino
Features:
  • Cold Junction Compensated
  • Compatible with all J-type thermocouples with standard flat-blade mini-TC plug installed
  • J-Type-Specific connector materials ensure a controlled cold junction transition
  • Ttc = (Vout / 0.005)°C
  • Analog output with high cutoff frequency
    • Measure rapid changes in temperature, such as exhaust temp during a drag race, that most sensors can’t detect
    • Analog filtering to remove higher frequency EMI from signal is included in the design
  • Supply voltage range: 4 – 32V with full reverse polarity protection
  • Wide input range without correction
  • Correction tables are available, full range accuracy to +/- 1°C
  • Open thermocouple goes to full-scale output (~5.0V)
  • Mounting holes for 4-40 sized screws (see Related Products below)
  • Screw terminals sized for PH0 phillips screw driver
  • Purchase includes one fully assembled and tested SEN-30101 Quad Channel Thermocouple Amplifier Board, as pictured
  • Designed, manufactured, tested and shipped from the USA
