Business Casual. Best way to describe the dress code.
Cargo shorts and light shirts for extra-curricular activities.
And a hat.
And sunscreen.
And sunglasses.
And a towel. (to dry off after those water based rides)

Yeah baby! Already checked into my room! Off to find some late breakfast / early lunch. Maybe a local theme park might have something to eat. LOL

Good news and bad news.

Good news: I visited the conference room floor. It's almost double the size from last year. The Showcase Solution room is now just a meeting room. The LARGER room behind it (the one under construction last year) is now the Showcase. HUGE!

Bad news: (1) Champs is not Champs; it's now called High Velocity. It should be High Velocity PRICES. Only 5 items are under $10 now. The decor is now more hardwood than sports-like. Oh well.
Bad news (2) Remember the problems with the door keys not working all the time last year? Same problem again. I've already got my key replaced. They're AT&T this year (Verizon last year)

That's all for now! See everybody soon!
DBB

I made it down after a long flight delay. This place is much larger than I expected.

Time to look around and fine me something to eat.

Checked into the hotel a few hours ago, found the closest 711 and grabbed a case of Miller High Life (us canucks cannot get this fantastic beer in Canada)

Planning to go and get registered up / get acquainted with the surroundings tomorrow.

Is everyone meeting up for a beer somewhere tomorrow?

BoxTone Lounge to start, at 6pm. After that, we'll make it up as we go along. We need to find a good place in the lounge/dining area for breakfast and lunch each day. As I said, we'll make it up as we go along.
G'night all, long day today. x14 knows why.

Checked into the hotel a few hours ago. Had some internet issues. Using my 8830 for a modem and I am getting horrible speeds (5kb/sec) and timeouts (think I fixed those though). I am currently on the hotel's connection ($9 a day). Anyone else on Verizon get crap speeds here? I made sure I was not routing through my BES. I have gotten 90kb/sec before in other areas, but I had a 7250 then.

Oh well. See you all tomorrow.

I'm a single malt girl. My half-Scottish blood line means I prefer the highland singles. Now if they were giving away a nice Speyside single like Glenrothes, that would be different...

Last year the in-room internet was free - I think they credited back at checkout, so I assume the same is the case this year...

Well this day could be going better. I did not know the training sessions were an additional cost as I was not included in the regestration process. My manager did everything. So here I am at the convention and I have nothing to do until 6.

On top of that I have no rental car. That is being fixed soon though. I am currently waiting outside for a cab to drive me to the rental place. Then I have a whole bunch o time to kill.

I look forward to seeing you all at 6.

So I guess thats the plan. Meeting everyone at 6PM.. I am hanging out by registration using the free wifi. If anyone wants to meet up, just post a place. I am up for it. Bored and by myself.

Being a conference n00b, not sure what to do until sessions tomorrow.

Sounds good to me. I haven't ate yet today. Where do you want to meet up?

I will laugh if we are sitting beside each other.

I actually went back to drop everything off so I don't have to haul it all around. Give me how about 12:30 and I'll come down and be by the registration desk?

*yawn*

I'm in the Admin 1 class today. It's a little more basic than I expected. I've never had any formalized training so I figured I'd start with this one.

I'm looking forward to 5:00!

I'm in admin 2 right now(just after lunch), and while it's good, it seems a bit rushed. Thank god we get a 200 page coiled text book to take home. I'm learning a lot about the actual data flow of everything, which i knew the basics of before, but not in depth. This afternoon we're gonna get into stuff like troubleshooting and logging, and I hope that that stuff is really good.

I'll try the Admin 2 next time. Admin 1 is good, its just a little slower paced than I expected.
