On the T-Mobile party front, it is scheduled for the same night as the WES party. They did that last year as well but last year everyone got a brand new pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. Here is the invite for it. It is off site but they say transportation will be included.

Is there a way to get invited? Or do you just go to the booth for passes or what?

Default WES Session Thursday May 15th - 05-01-2008, 09:54 AM

Thought I would post (for those interested) about the "Every laptop should be left behind" session happening @ 9am on Thursday, May 15th at the Grand Ballroom, Salon 7.

The concept of the session is to discuss how various applications allows for people to use their BlackBerry for many tasks traditionally performed on a laptop or desktop computer.

Here's the skinny:

"According to Gartner, fifty per cent of traveling workers will leave their notebooks at home in favor of other devices by 2012. These devices have become more powerful and growing legions of innovative companies are creating the next-generation software and hardware that will power these devices. Come hear from a sampling of these category-defining companies who will force you to leave your laptops behind..."

Speakers:
Rob Woodbridge, President & CEO, Rove
Dave Peak, Co-Founder & CEO, LiquidTalk
Paul Dumais, CTO, Rove
Will Hickie, CEO, WICKSoft
Bob Burk, TrueContext/Pronto
Kerry Kinchen, Electronic Communications Analyst, Sealed Air Corporation

Thanks. Didn't read it carefully enough at first. Changed my schedule to attend this session; mainly because Will Hickie, CEO, WICKSoft is a speaker.

I think I'll be attending that session now too. Looks a lot better in reality than what the title is.

For T-Mobile. I'm not sure how they are doing it. I got an email from them but nothign about signing up. In years past they had your names at the door as my sales rep had signed me up. Get with a T-Mobile Sales rep and see if they can get you in.

Again I am sure this question was already answered, but I can't find it. So here goes. Does anyone know where the WES party is Tuesday night? I don't see mention of it anywhere. Did they book the Hard Rock again like last year (and if so is it there every year)?

Got da#$^! I've found out that like last year, couple of sessions which i would really like to see are at the same time. Gosh! Like last year :-/

How come that the BlackBerry won't last long for me?
7290 -> 8700g -> 7130g -> 8100 -> 8300 -> 8110 -> 8310 -> 9000 ... who will be next?

Hey everyone. I just posted a thread in general and then noticed this one. This will be my first WES and I'm going to be there from Sunday until Sunday and staying at the Marriott I am taking the Training for Administrators 2 course on Monday and Blackberry Certification Exam on Tuesday. Other than that, I have nothing in stone. I would like to get together with some other BBF members, so you guys let me know what the plans are!

I was going to, except I am taking the Admin 2 course on Monday. There are some topics covered that I really wish I could see more on. If there are any handouts or slides, I'd love to get a copy of those from somebody, particularly the "Mobilizing Sharepoint" topic they mentioned.

My colleague and I wanted to, but since our schedule doesn't permit we'll be there at the tail-end of Government Day or at the pool bar drinking alky with the WES Crew (holla!). I kinda wished Government Day info was given earlier. I couldn't extend my hotel stay by one day after all the paperwork (at my govt job) was already processed. oh well.

Unfortunately, I heard about the Govt day too late. I reserved my room at the Marriott months ago, even before I officially had been approved for the trip. By the time I had the govt day info, it was too late to modify the reservations and change my trip info. Next year, I'll have to plan on going down on Sunday to take advantage of it.

shame on you. If you were a true coaster enthusiast you would realize that at the back you'll get more of a whip / pull than you would at the front where you'll get more of a push feeling.

Hence the only rollercoaster I ride. I had a friend that was the director of Marketing there before she left Otown. She always told me to ride the back of DD, but I never would. Maybe one day.

I tortured a fellow BES Admin from England with the "Small World" ride. He said it wasn't that bad until *I* started singing the song.

Well your more likely to die on the plane trip than the coaster. But many people don't like the feeling of falling.

I was at Island of Adventures the second year it was open. That was a while back (7 or 8 years I think). I did ride DD and Hulk. Good coasters. But nothing beats Ceder Point for true coaster lovers. Top Thrill Dragster is quite an experience (a short one, but really awesome).

I like how this went from WES to coasters.
