Gosh the 8330 takes some crappy pics. We can only hope the Bold can do better. Or at the very least I get a tripod for my 8330.

The AT&T party was a blast!! Hootie rocked the house down! And getting a Pearl was the best part. My friend went to the TMO party and they got to ride two of the rides there, Twister and Mummy. Verizon was not as much fun when we showed up. Oh and the worst part was some guy threw up on our bus ride back from AT&T. YUCK!!!!

What an awesome time. Thank you everyone for making my first WES unforgettable. I am eternally grateful. I hope I can convince my manager to send me back next year.

I'm with Treedude, thanks a ton for making my first WES so much fun. It was awesome meeting up with everyone and I especially liked it how our group won all of the Verizon prizes.

Trying to use this CD to get the conference pdf's and it won't connect. Likely it's work firewall or how IE is locked down but is anyone able to connect?

Used mine just fine last night. Try here to see if it works, just in case the local content protection is on...

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

I downloaded the mall throughout the day Jeff. The Developer track failed this afternoon but was fine this evening.

Thanks Jibi, the link worked fine.

For whatever reason my CD never "connects", I tried it on two work pc's and my home laptop. Nada!

Okay, so I've been a slacker and not written a full WES report. Let's just say I've been extremely busy applying the learned knowledge in the workplace, k? Also studying hard for BCX-211 Beta.

Anyways, here's some pics from WES 2008. These are the tame ones. LOL

Showcase Solution - Monday Reception; note WICKSoft in the pic!

WICKSoft (Shane and Will) showing off their product in the bar.

BBF Forums crew and friends - Left to right: x14, Michael (from Boxtone), Shane (from WICKSoft), AlanM, DarthBBerry, Michelle, Will (from WICKSoft), Treedude, Tommy (cant remember your BBF handle)

BBF Crew - Conquering Magic Kingdom. Left to Right: DarthBBerry, Treedude, mahoward, x14, AlanM.
Sorry, but I didn't scan the Splash Mountain picture yet.

Other people of note not pictured that were seen at WES: Pinjo, Kevin Crackberry, jnetter, jletendre, jsplit, wunderbar, chubby_nubby, bertiebassett.

Lastly, I found out that WES will be held at the Orlando World Center Mariott May 5-7, 2009 and again in 2010. (No dates yet for 2010). Make your reservations now!

Cheers all. It was fun. Hope to see all of you again, including the 3 blondes in hats. (Guess you had to be there.)

~DBB

PS: Best advice overheard at WES (after a long day at Disney) - "Dude, when getting out of a car in a hotel parking lot with 2 other guys in the middle of the night, don't yell out, 'DAMN MY ASS HURTS!'"

I will have to check out the pics at home. Photobucket is blocked at work.

Also you could always email me the not so tame pics . I have a gmail account. I will let you guess the full address .

Default Presentations online - 05-29-2008, 12:44 PM

Anybody download/view the presentations online? Did you read the WA02 session, Troubleshooting the BlackBerry Solution, Part 1? Notice anything peculiar about it? How about the banner on each one of the slides.

It says: Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2007. That's right, 2007! They just recycled the old presentation from last year. Hey RIM, if you're going to regurgitate the same ol' crap from the previous year, you could at least change the banner header to reflect the correct WES.

I hadn't noticed that one. Now, that could be a typo. If the guy applied a single template to every slide, it could just be a typo. Anyone who was at that session in 2007 care to confirm if it was the same one?

Same EXACT presentation from last year. I have the PDF from 2007 as well. The only differences I can detect is the title slide for the session number, and the word "device" from '07 is replaced with "smartphone" and vice-versa.

CHEAP!

And

- I actually think it's not a bad idea to re-do some of the previous years sessions, it's not like you ever get thru all the sessions you want to go to...so getting a chance to see them the following year is a bonus..

- I definately felt a number of sessions were 'samey' compared to previous years..
