Default WIFI Loosing connection

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone - first time using this site - first time using Blackberry (8820). I use to have a SPV from Orange M700 and used WIFI all the time for the internet. Now I have a Blackberry I wanted to do the same. I have connected my Home Hub but the WIFI keeps lossing connection. So when I use the internet it charges to my Orange account, therefore costing me money. In my managing connections on the phone the colour is yellow most of the time. I keep being asked if I want to connect but when I tick yes nothing happens, now and again I get connected but not very often. Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Welcome to BB Forums.

Have you updated to the latest version (4.2.2.180) of the handheld
operating system.

My current version is v4.2.2.124 (platform 2.4.0.58) an Orange supplier.

Shall I still upgrade to 4.2.2.180

Seems that Orange only offer the one I have and 4.2.2.18is T Mobile - getting very confused not sure what to do.

check out Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ and find the section on Upgrading my Handheld OS.

It's a very good website for new BB users.

Actually, .180 is for the 8320.

Here is a link for the latest OS for the 8820.

Default It works

Thanks John - it now works. You are a great help. I have noticed with the upgrade that the WiFi icon does not go dark when connected like the manual says, however the name of the connection does appear.

Also, the Calendar on the "Today" screen does not show appointments for any exsiting ones, but new ones do show.
Thanks again.

I hope one day I will be able to help someone.
