Default Having some issues using wifi. - 02-17-2008, 10:51 AM

I just got my Curve with wifi last week. Right now all I have is a voice and texting plan.
So when using the wifi feature on this phone I have noticed sometimes it won't go to the webpage I'm directing it to go to. Instead it will go to this T-mobile page that tells me if I want all these cool features I have to pay like $6.99. The weird thing is this doesn't happen all the time. What is the reason for this?

Is their a way to change the home page to anyone I want i the browser?

I tried using Opera with my phone and it won't open. I get two screens that come up saying " the application Opera has attempted to access a low-level network connection. Would you like to allow this?" I click yes on both. After the second one it says it failed to connect to the internet. Is anyone having problems with the new version of Opera?

Thanks

Opera uses APN (TCP) traffic, these options are set at: options -> advanced -> TCP.

To set the homepage:
Browser -> options -> Browser configuration.
At the bottom you can fill inn default home page.

Regarding the "cool feature" site you are talking about, could that be t-zones or something? I'm not familiar with us plans, but for that price only thing I can remember is that.

It could be t-zones. Those Opera settings are they set in the browser? Because I can't even get to any options for Opera.

Opera have the possibility to set network options.
You can set TCP.

But then again you need to insert the AT&T TCP settings at your phone:
Options -> Advanced -> TCP.

NOTE: the settings I have will not work for you, you need to fill inn your carrier specific settings.

Other charges might apply, so you might want to contact your carrier to verify this.

You need to make sure you're browsing using the wifi browser, not TZones.

(please change your profile. You're on TMobile now with an 8320?)

Under Settings -> Browser. You can change your browser to Internet or Hotspot (BB) browser. Be sure to save it before you navigate away from it. Now your browser application will allow to browse as you please. There may be some more tmobile applications on your phone, when you run these applications, they will reset your browser to the t-zones (tmobile) browser that will not allow you to browse.
