Default UMA problems and questions

Please Login to Remove!

I am using a 2 wire modem that produces a wirless network as well. I can get my curve to log in to the neywork very consistently, but trying to use the phone in UMA is a bit shaky. Although I can get the UMA to connect it does not stay connected for very long. In reading other post I notice almost everybody uses a router as well is that necessay to make it consistent?

I think there were a few threads maybe in November about people having problems with those. Is that a DSL modem? When I had DSL, the connection wasn't a nice streaming connection so that might be a problem.

You might be right about needing another router also. I have a Verizon Fios supplied router and I can get UMA to work, but it's not reliable. So I had to add my old Linksys router. One big benefit of stand alone routers is that its usually a lot easier to make adjustments to the connection settings. That can make all the difference for UMA.

I agree. 2Wire routers have had problems with the BB/Wifi/UMA. You may want to get a different router.
