Default Wifi in Different Country

Please Login to Remove!

Hey there,

I just picked up the ATT 8120 with wifi on it. I was wondering if i travel say to Germany but I don't get the blackberry International plan can I turn off the mobile network and still use wifi to get my push email and internet?

While at home I can turn off the mobile EDGE network and just use wifi to check email and browse the internet, so I was curious for when I travel.

Hopefully that made sense and thanks for your answers in advance

Shawn

Yes, you can - as long as you can find WiFi hotspot to connect to and that hotspot does not have restrictive filtering: for example, only allows HTTP.

Just remember you will not have service outside a HotSpot and you may want to take a travel router.
