In NYC, wifi spots are everywhere and I was looking to replace my aging Palm TX, so I jumped on new pearl from TMO (extended my contract) and just got it in mail, must say that so far it looks nice and feels better than previous one. I also bought invisible shield to protect it from abuse my old pearl went through (hopefully batt cover will survive)
However, after copying everything over and not doing any blackberry internet activation, I'm unable to use wifi (the only reason why I got that phone). I looked into advanced DNS options, tried DNS lookup and it works, but for some reason no app can use it. I noticed that the only errors I get are UMA related. I downloaded opera and it can't access the network.
EDIT: Above error was only present on my school network, when at home I got green checkmark on wifi and it utilizes my connection. Browser works, but none of IM programs or Opera works.
