Default wifi issue on 8320 - 07-16-2008, 07:22 PM

I got the 8320 last month, plucked the T-Mobile SIM from my Nokia E70 (yuck!) and plopped it in.

It worked within seconds, picking up my wifi signal and giving me coverage through Hotspot@Home (a major selling point for me, I have no coverage at my house.)

Anyways, I came back from a trip recently, and while the 8320 can still connect to my router without issue, it does not trigger the @Home service.

The router had been unplugged while I was away.

The weirdest part of this issue is that, after leaving my phone on for a prolonged period, Hotspot@Home once again kicked in and I had service!

Anyways, basically I'm looking to resolve this issue. It was working fine originally, why now would it stop? Are there any settings that I can change on the phone or on the router to rectify this?

The router I'm using is a D-Link DIR-655.

Please read through the "T-Mo UMA Quit today" thread. TMO is having issues with UMA. If you call tech support they will make you jump through hoops and blame everything from your phone to your router. They finally admitted to me last night that they have an issue and the engineers are working on it. Your issue seems very similar to everyone else. Just a real pain.

Well, darn. At least it's not just me I guess...

Sorry for being a total noob and starting a thread on a topic that is glaringly apparent.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8320)

Keep in mind not everyone is having this issue. My UMA has worked great for quite a while now. I'm using it right now.

To the OP, where are you located? The UMA issues seem to be happening to folks in the southeastern part of the US for the most part.
