If you're not getting an IP address something is wrong with the configuration of your router.

Are you doing any MAC filtering?

Is the DHCP server on the router configured with enough IP addresses for devices to connect?

What kind of router are you using?

[Edit] Let's work on the home router since chances are that's one you have control over.

i have a TPLink WLan-Router.
i have tried everyting... i have no MAC Filter - enought IP in DHCP-range and
i tried it with every encryption.

with the HTC from a friend it works perfect...

i think i should update the OS a second time or something... :-|

ideas are welcome...

Default same problem with 8820 - 10-29-2008, 02:19 PM

Hey there,

got the same problem with the BB8820. Can't connect at home, not to
the linksys with any either with no encryption, nor at my friends bar, nor to
my airport express bridge. In the routing table of the linksys it seems the
BB does get an ip, but the berry itself refuses to obtain it...
My 8820 is completely up to date 4.5 and whatnot... It says it's connected
but that's a lie.

although this thread hasn't seem action in some time now I hope somebody
has a sollution. I'm in the Netherlands (you know, Amsterdam) so hotspots
are as rare here as wooden shoes are in the usa... nevertheless s.o.s.
