Default wi-fi, lan, shared folders - 09-24-2008, 05:32 PM

is there a way to access shared folders on my pc from my curve 8320 using my wi-fi connection? the wi-fi browser does not seem to support this.

for example, i cannot go to...
\\hal9000\pictures

the browser does not allow the use of a "\" character, so I cannot browse to a windows folder. do i need a third party app?

i'm looking for a solution other than the desktop software, media center, micro sd card as an external drive, email, or locally hosted web pages. i'm specifically trying to create an ordinary peer-to-peer lan connection between my bb and pc.

no, there are various FTP utilities for the BB, I think one from Rove, the Mobile File Manager. Free.
