Default UMA in Spain?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi- My son is taking an unlocked T-Mobile Curve to Spain (with no data plan or T-Mobile contract) for the summer. The plan is to use a local provider SIM card in-country. My question (that the T-Mobile store rep could not answer) is if he takes a prepaid T-Mobile SIM card to Spain, will he be able to use the UMA wireless signal to call back to the States? I know I could use my Curve with the dataplan overseas, but am unsure about the prepaid card

If not, any suggestions to call back home?

Thank you for any help/advice!

Try the prepaid card here first. The data plan shouldn't matter, but prepaid cards might not include UMA capability.

I don't think prepaid vs. post paid matters as far as UMA. I agree with monkeypaw. Put the prepaid sim in the device here and if UMA works you're good to go.
