Wirelessly posted (My Bold)

You need to go to ur beorver config page and make sure that it broadcasts on b g and n.

The berries cannot see n networks as of now

I don't understand "You need to go to ur beorver config page". Is that mean go to the Belkin Router config page? My router works perfect with 3 Laptop b/g network and 2 laptop N network.

Default BB 8120 and Belkin N - 05-18-2009, 12:41 AM

What he seems to be saying is what you interpeted.

I own an 8120 and a Belkin router, although not the N version.

I think you already have enabled the router to allow for the B, G, and N protocols, based upon the information you mentioned with regard to the laptops.

What I had to do, (on the Belkin), is to input the 8120 MAC address into the configuration of the Belkin itself. I think this is found in the MAC filtering area, which is where you login via the 192.168.2.1 IP address, via your browser, (unless you have assigned a different address). You dont want to filter the MAC address OUT, but just want the router to be able to detect it. That way, when you are in the WIFI mode on the phone, the router itself will handshake with that particular MAC address.

One other thing. You might want to check if your router is in broadcast mode. If this isnt enabled, then initially no device will detect the router, but I think that if you do the MAC address thing I mentioned, it wouldnt matter anyway.

The MAC address on your phone should be found somewhere in the OPTIONS, STATUS, WLAN MAC:

Also, depending on the security you have enabled, ie, WEP/WPA, etc, you will need to input this through the phone. This is only done once, (you probably know this already). Once that is done, everytime you use your phone, it will automatically login, (provided you have enabled this on your phone menu).

Hope this helps.

Default 2wire G-B router: 8120 can't detect ANY wifi - 05-26-2009, 08:22 PM

My home router is a 2Wire g-b, and my new Pearl can't find it--no networks found Again 4 laptops connect flawlessly (and usually find 3 other networks besides) ... WEP--I know the code by heart I've tried so many times. I'm bummed about this, as I paid extra to get the 8120 instead of an 8110 or 8100.

I will try what the user above said, and see how that works ... and let everyone know. Seems that people have either no problem connecting ... or no luck. I've read somewhere that the broadcast channel may make a difference too ... any thoughts on that?
