I have been a Hotspot at home user since it was introduced and I recently went with a BB 8900, the first two weeks without a data plan and it connectected to my router with the UMA with no problems. I also have travelled to Europe using my Nokia 6086 and have connected to various routers at cafes and other free WI-FI spots. You might want to try connecting to a different router and see if the problem is in the BB or your router.

No, tmobile UK do not have UMA.

Also t-mobile uk call the BIS service the Blackberry email booster. as it is an add on to any plan, they call it a booster.

Double check your connection preferences. Do you have it set on something else beside "Mobile network only?"

Manage Connections>Mobile Network Options>Connection Preference

T-Mobile UK does not provide UMA service.

The only Mobile company in the UK that does is Orange UK.
