Default 8120 and facebook?? - 10-10-2009, 06:23 AM

Hi all, first post

I have blackberry 8120 pearl and im using wi-fi from my home net, i have download the version of facebook aplication but i have a problem connecting try that connection, says that i must have contract so i can use facebook? Any one can help me, or tell me what app. should i download.

He's saying that you need the BB data plan in order to use the FB app. If you want to use wifi, you would have to do it from the browser.

The Blackberry Facebook application is from RIM. Like all their other applications it uses BIS-B to connect, so however you are connected you need a Blackberry Data plan. Once you do have such a plan, your BB will automatically use any WiFi access point you configure to carry BIS-B data instead of your wireless carrier.

As Trimix said, if you want to use Facebook without a Blackberry data plan you need to find a different app, or use the hotspot browser to access the Facebook Web interface.
