Default blackberry curve 8520 UMA help - 10-23-2009, 05:25 PM

ive had my blackberry curve 8520 for a couple of days and i cant get the UMA to work.. i can use the browser but i cant make any calls or text because UMA doesnt want to work my mobile network is set to mobile network prefered.. i tried the other settings and it still doesnt work.. i have a belkin router.. if any one can help me i would really appreciate it

Try it with the mobile network completely off. Also do a VOIP check on your network to see if it's even good enough for UMA.

no it doesnt... i performed the test and im at 68% quality of service... i think its the router im using thats causing all the problems its a g+ mimo .. it started working this morning but it comes and goes at times.. my router is located far from my room and the wall are pretty thick.. is there any way i would be able to send the signal to another router for it to reach the back of my house or should i just buy a newer router?.. thanks for the VoIP test.. these were the results

Probably the router. The unsusual routers, as in not the plain G variety, seem to cause problems.

Oh and try that VOIP test more than once. Most times I'll get high 90's and then randomly it'll show 40's or 50's.
