Turn Off Data Service

Hello everyone,
i think this is silly question. but i need to find it out and stucked. Can somebody tell me that how to turn on/off the Data service of the edge and 3G without disconnecting the 3G network connections using blackberry apis. All suggestions will be appreciated.
