Default BB Browser works with WiFi, but no other application

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am totally desperate. I've got no data plan at all, but WiFi is working fine with my BB browser on Bold 9700. Browsing is perfectly possible. But here is my problem: No other application can access the internet. Neither olive tree bible reader nor midpSSH nor logicMail nor Viigo BBGeeks is in a position to access the internet. Do you have any idea what i'm doing wrong? Thanx.

Bye

Parvus

That's the way it works... without a BIS or BES Data Plan.

You might look into setting your TCP/APN settings, that could work some third party apps using TCP and not BIS.

Thank you for your answer. But I'm using no data plan at all. I've only got a WiFi internet connection via my WLAN router at home. So I've got no carrier's APN that I could use. Although the hostspot browser is working fine but no other application could connect to the internet.

I could not find this contellation in the FAQ entry you mentioned. Have I overlooked something?

That's the way it works when you don't have a data plan.
