Free Internet with Wifi Access?
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to blackberry's and just purchased a blackberry curve 9300 the other day from Bell (I live in Canada by the way) on the social networking plan. In my plan, I get facebook, twitter, bbm and myspace but NO data. I'm wondering if I can use apps that require the internet, such as thescore mobile and facebook chat, for free if I am connected to my home internet or Wifi. I have talked to bell multiple times and got a couple different answers so I thought I'd come here and ask. Basically I have apps that require internet and I just want to use them at home or at school for free. Can I do that without a data plan and how?

Re: Free Internet with Wifi Access?
You need a BlackBerry Data Plan to use the applications and data features you have listed even over WiFi.

Your plan only includes the specified features. It does not include additional data and data applications.

Re: Free Internet with Wifi Access?
Hi, If the Bell Social plan is anything like the Telus Social plan, you do have Data, it is just limited to specific Social Network apps. But yes you should be able to use your wifi connections for some apps. Apps like Browser will default to wifi if connected and not able to connect over the Bell service, so will BB App world.

My Daughter has the Telus Social Network plan and had no problem using wifi for the downloading apps through BB AppWorld, browsing the web. I do not know about The Score Mobile, but you should be able to try it if you are connected to a wifi network.

Good luck
