I still think this is a bluetooth issue as I have tried all the suggestions here and none work when attempting a call with my any of 7 bluetooth headsets I have here. I have a ticket opened with Tmo and am withing for a call back from there advance engineering group because they (Tmo support reps) are saying they have never heard of anyone else complain about dropped calls while connected and using UMA over the H@H service. I will update all if the call yelds anything good, like a fix.

Well I got my 8320 this week and it connected with no issues to my 2wire router, and I have the all caps UMA icon when I make calls throughout the apartment, and while I haven't talked much yet using it the quality seems fine and no static or dropped calls. It does occasionally cycle between wifi/edge and it seems like if I turn the phone off/on again it connects to the wifi again. Browsing seems slow in general, edge or wifi.

Well now I have a WIFI icon so I'm connected to my router, but I can't get UMA anymore? And it it normal for the browser to take FOREVER to start up? Like several minutes? Or it just hangs and never does anything at all?

I have WIFI and EDGE currently, when I first got my phone out of the box yesterday, I had UMA. Why would it not be working now?

I can't get the browser to work at all now... on edge or wifi. What is going on here?

Internet works when I change browser settings to wifi browser but it's not working when I have it set for edge. Oh no UMA still.

Have you rebooted the device? If you turn the wifi off, do you get EDGE?

I have EDGE according to the phone, 2-3 bars. The black/white WIFI logo is on too. I check connections and it says I'm connected to the wifi with full bars. I had UMA yesterday pretty much the entire day, haven't had it yet today.

How do I reboot it? Just pull the battery?

Yes. Just pull the battery. Don't turn the device off first, either. Just pull the battery.

I was corrected yesterday that the alt+right shift+del doesn't do the same thing as pulling the battery. Apparently, RIM recommends pulling the battery over the keypad method.

UMA is back...why would a reboot make it so I can connect? Am I going to have to reboot this thing every few hours for as long as I own it to use the wifi to talk?

Correction, UMA is gone again. I'm 3 feet from the router.

Reboot fixes most everything BB. Why would UMA be any different. You are still having problems so I would check out the wifi FAQ's over at Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ.

hmmmm I just notice the farther away I am from the router the longer I keep a signal... Matter a fact I didnt even drop a call or connection.... My router is sitting less than 3 feet from my phone. Could the signal be overwhelmed

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8320/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Pretty annoying how the edge and wifi switch back and forth so much. The browser seems to only work sometimes. Do I set my browser to wifi or internet?

Go 20 feet from the router and mark the results

This is the same issue I am having......Like I said above, The T-Mo website states that bluetooth may interfere with UMA/WiFi Service.

Keep us posted.....

I've got a Linksys WRT54Gv5, newest firmware upgrade, 8320 and a Jawbone BT headset. When I use the Jawbone with UMA running, I'll get anywhere from 25-30 mins of good call quality and then BOOM, call drops for no reason. I do several hour-long conference calls from home and so have had this happen like a dozen or so times. For short calls, 15 mins or less, no issues at all. Longer calls...drops every time.

OTOH, if I disable bluetooth and just use the wired headset, I can get thru 1hr-1.5hr concalls via UMA and never have it drop.

I think it's Bluetooth...that's the only common denominator for me.

Yes, it's been established that the bluetooth frequencies interfere with wifi.
