Default Uma and Bandwith - 10-14-2007, 12:10 AM

Is it necessary to unlock your router (password) for your phone to connect to uma??
I am receiving my 8320 this week and I called my carrier to allow wireless connection wifi access to my modem, but it is password protected. So do I need to unprotect it in order for automatic uma connection. thanks

You will need the wep key (if enabled) for access to your router. Also, if you mean, do you need the password to get into the router settings, you may need that too as the settings may need to be adjusted slightly.

Thank you John and sorry I confused you. In order for your phone to automatically switch to uma when you enter your home, do you need to keep your bandwidth unprotected (no password)

No, once you enter the settings on your BB it will save it and it will connect to it automatically.
