After a helical groove has been cut inthe resistive layer, tinned connecting wires of electrolyticcopper or copper-clad iron are welded to the end-caps. Theresistors are coated with a red, non-flammable lacquerwhich provides electrical, mechanical and climaticprotection. This coating is not resistant to aggressive fluxesand cleaning solvents.
