This sale is for a new (vintage) and working 1976 Commodore 899D Portable Mini Computer Calculator that is in its original box.
It was never sold and does not appear to have been removed from the box very much if at all during its 45-year lifetime.
The 899D is in virtually unblemished new condition and includes a user manual entitled "How Your Calculator Works: Portable Mini Computer 899D" as well as the factory warranty card.
We conducted brief tests with a fresh battery to verify that it was in working condition and it passed our tests.
It uses a standard 9-volt battery available at "most drug, department, and camera stores" the user manual reads.
This early "mini computer"could not only add, subtract, multiply, and divide but computes percentages, square roots, squares, pi, and reciprocal functions and also offers a change sign key and a register exchange.
