This is a very nice and clean, slightly used Dolby DM 100 Bit Stream Analyzer. Includes wall power supply, CD with test files, owners manual, quick start guide, New Duracell batteries, RS232 serial cable & soft travel case. This unit was only used a few times and then put back in the closet so all of it is in new mint condition. Really no signs of use at all. The Dolby DM100 is a handheld, diagnostic tool that monitors Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM bitstreams. It also generates test signals in these formats, and allows system integrators and service engineers to test the integrity and composition of Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM signals routed through production or broadcast facilities, or home theater systems.The DM100 accepts input signals via XLR, BNC, and Toslink connectors. It identifies the input format—Dolby Digital, Dolby E, or PCM—and activates the appropriate built-in decoder. A standard headphone jack can monitor any two decoded channels, while a built-in speaker monitors the sum of any channel pair. A two-line LCD screen displays Dolby Digital and Dolby E metadata information. Below, six LEDs indicate bitstream and system information.
A preselected set of Dolby Digital, Dolby E, and PCM test bitstreams is stored in internal nonvolatile RAM, and can be changed via software download. (Serial port provided for software upgrades and logging using a Windows PC.) The selected bitstream is produced simultaneously on XLR, BNC, and Toslink output connectors. The DM100 even receives and decodes an input signal while generating a test bitstream.
The DM100 also features a pass-through mode that allows modification of the input signal\'s AES channel status bits before passing it to the output connectors. (While the input signal is monitored.)
Running on four AA batteries or a supplied wall-mounted DC power supply (and including a soft case), the Dolby DM100 is a uniquely efficient tool for end-to-end system integrity testing.
