I was excited about midpssh until i realized there was no way to simply type directly on the screen and instead have to go through the menu. It gets really old going back and forth from the main screen to the input screen. Anyone found a way around this or another option for mudding on a bb?

If I am reading this correctly, you are connecting to a bulletin board to play a mud game, and using the menu key to pull up the input screen to type anything.

When you push the menu key, instead of selecting Input, select Type and you will be able to type directly to the screen. I can log onto my bbs and get into Mud this way. Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hey, Asskick, that's excellent you did that. I wanted to ask if you could post the source on your site? (Or point me to it if I just missed it.)

Thanks!

The site is defaced, at least the ota... one, so can the download be trusted?

On a related note, but a separate project - I have done a full port of midpssh to the Blackberry, and renamed it to BBSSH.

This is a free/OSS project. Currently information can be found on my personal web site: (Unfortunately I can't post working links yet, I don't have enough post count):

marcparadise.com/article/tags/bbssh

But this weekend I am moving it to a new home, bbssh.org. The new site will be online by the end of the weekend.

Development is active; a lot of features have been added over the original midpssh, mostly focused on usability and tighter integration with the Blackberry platform. (At this point, about 80% of the original midpssh has been replaced) In spite of this the application is very stable, and by my best estimate is being used by several hundred people if not more.

I'll post back up here once the new web site is online.

If you just want to give it a spin, you can grab the OTA download here:
bbssh.org/ota/

(If a mod can fix these links up, I would appreciate it.)

Thanks for letting us know, Marc. And thank you for the awesome app. I will write a post on Berry Review about your new Web address on Monday. Just let me know if there is anything else you would like to add.

All the best.
