Bold with black trackball & bezel

Here are a couple of photo's of my bold with my new black trackball. I installed the bezel and buttons a few weeks ago, but just received my trackball yesterday.

Very well done. The all black looks great.

That looks so cool!

It's like a stealth bold!

Did you get the black OEM trackball from cnn.cn or use a G1 trackball?

How is the feel compared to the stock Bold trackball? Any less gritty?

JDM_EJ8 12-25-2008 11:58 AM

look good

Thanks for the pics, I was wondering what it was going to look like. My black trackball is on the way from cnn.cn as we speak. How does it look in the dark, does any light peek out around the outside of the trackball, sorta like an eclipse?

Superh3ro 12-25-2008 05:48 PM

sorry
but did u buy the javelin black trackball and install it to ur bold?

It's the 8900 OEM trackball. It popped up on eBay and I picked it up from there. I was going to get it from cnn.cn, but they were out of stock.

The 8900 trackball from cnn.cn will work fine, they are the same size.

It was easy to install. The video installation on cnn.cn pretty much sums it up. As long as you have the correct screwdriver and a small pointed prying tool to pop open the clasps on the trackball housing you will have no problem installing it. Took about 5 mins (but I have opened my Bold at least a half dozen times by now so it is getting easier each time <g>)

Very nice !

Do you still have the light effect or is it masked by the black trackball ?

balto 12-26-2008 09:14 AM

From what I have heard the light effect is gone with the black ball.
