Please help - unable to send text messages
 
My daughter has a blackberry curve 8520 and cannot send txt messages. She is getting a message saying 'requested facility not implemented' . It shows a black cross. Inspite of an extensive search on google I cannot find anyone who knows how to crack this. She did download a software app called 'memory booster pro' and this seems to have caused the problem. I am not a techie so please help in simple terms. I would be so grateful.

SMS is generally a phone issue. Cal the carrier and make sure that text messaging is enabled on the account.

Shaun, are you saying she was able to send texts before downloading the memory booster application? If so then delete that app, do a battery Pull and see if it corrects.

If she has never been able to send texts then follow Dubdub's advice because as usual, he is on target.

She was using the txt facility fine.

Have deleted the app and done a battery pull but this has not cured the problem.

Any other ideas please?

You should contact the provider to make sure they didn't change anything in the account. As usual looks like Dubdub was correct.....
