One key press to start new SMS. But how? Is there a 3rd party application?

Another option: from your homescreen you can type the name of the person you want to send an SMS to. Press the menu key, and you'll have the option to email/SMS/MMS the person.

Just tried QSMS. Very simple app. I like.

I read some comments at berrycoder.com that QSMS doesn't work on the 8900. Maybe it has something to do with the "Q" key already being assigned to "Vibrate"?

i long ago bookmarked this page: blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Tips_and_Tricks it has lots of good tips. although there is no shortcut by bb of its own but still u can go to sms messages by alt+s
