Using Google Voice for free calls?

hi all. i have just read about google voice, and using it for free calls. i downloaded the google voice app to my pearl 8100. now the number that is dialing out, when using this application, is 916-538-3466.

i'm trying to make it so when i MAKE a fone call, it doesn't charge me anything. when i receive it, i don't mind, because i want to be able to use the caller id.

so, i am with t-mobile. does this mean that i would want to add the access number i listed above to MyFaves? so whenever i call out, it calls out using this, therefore not charging me?

i have it set so all incoming calls are set to show my google voice number (and my google voice number is currently in MyFaves), so that all my calls are free. however, i hate not seeing who is calling me, so i want to change this. if i add that gv access number instead of MY gv number, does that mean i can essentially make it free outgoing and incoming not free (if i change the gv option to show who is calling and not my gv number)?
